〈QUAD, Questions of Theatre: The sound of Macbeth〉 at Sohyang Theater Woori Bank Hall, with free admission.
This cross-genre music theatre work reinterprets Shakespeare’s Macbeth through sound. Rather than simply retelling the original story, the performance focuses on the poetic quality, rhythm, and musicality of Shakespeare’s language.
The actors’ voices, music, movement, and bodies come together as a single stage language, giving physical form to the rhythm and emotion of the text.
Returning Shakespeare’s words and ideas to their most fundamental form—sound—the work invites today’s audience to reflect on a history in which desire and violence continue to repeat themselves.
